Microsoft's new PerformancePoint Server has a "monitoring" component that allows companies to create business intelligence dashboards and scorecards. The dashboards allow for the integration of data from various data sources, which include SSAS cubes, relational databases, and Excel spreadsheets. Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Native Charts and Grids Office PerformancePoint Server has built in charts and grids which query SSAS cubes. These objects can be "filtered" by a global parameter. In the case below, when a user chooses a sales team, the top graph displays the trend line of the entire team, while the lower graph displays the sales reps within the team as a stacked bar chart.
Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Links to ProClarity (PAS) Views Office PerformancePoint Server has the ability to link to ProClarity views on a PAS server. This is important because the built in charts and grids in the first version are very basic. For any kind of real analysis you will want to link back to your PAS views. The global filter drop downs also apply to PAS views.
Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Scorecards Microsoft Office Performance Point Server is an upgrade to Business Scorecard Manager 2005. This means that dashboards also have the option of containing hierarchical scorecards which include KPI's. The KPI's can each have targets and they can be weighted.
