A Different Approach to Implementing Time Calculations in SSAS

NOTE: Excel 2007 has a bug which does not allow users to select calculations from a dimension that is not the measures dimension. If you are using Excel 2007 then you will need to alter this solution.

Comment out the CREATE MEMBER statements.
Physically add the calulated members to the DSV as part of the dimension table.

This works with Excel 2007 because the members are no longer technically "calculations", but rather real members loaded from the dimension. The Scope statments then populate those members.
